Wanna get paid to shoot some photos at the US Open? Heck, yes!

One of my terrific clients, Steven Goldsmith of Ameriprise Financial,  is an avid golfer, so having the US Open here at Lower Merion was a great thrill for him.  It was a thrill for me too, when he hired me to go along with him to shoot a day of practice rounds.  And even thru sporadic and at times torrential rain, we still grabbed some pretty cool shots. First one out at the tee we staked out was Tiger.  Wow!

A local treasure…and I can’t get enough of it.

You know how you have those cool little places right in your area that you go into once in a while and realize you need to go in them way more often? For me,  Starry Eyed Boutique in Haddonfield is one of those places. For years its been my tried and true destination when I want some vintage-y bling for my friends who love this stuff.   Even though it sits right on Haddon Ave, its easy to miss, tucked away in a little row of stores across from the PNC Bank,  right before you hit the center of Haddonfield. If vintage is your look, you MUST check it out.  Starry Eyed has been a fixture in Haddonfield for three decades, but owner Dani Ergood bought it  from her mom three years ago, and her young hip vibe adds a nice dimension to the store’s vintage look and feel.

Can you say Valentine's Day?"][/caption] [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="569" caption="Belladonna is a beautiful collection of Canadian-made perfume bottles adorned with crystals."][/caption] [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="598" caption="Owner Dani Ergood, surrounded by the beautiful things in her shop; she loves zeroing in on the perfect pieces for her customers."][/caption] [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="898" caption="One of the ways Dani is bringing a young vibe to her shop is with these attention-getting Buddha Bags, which she calls 'bags with bling.'"][/caption] [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="598" caption="How adorable is this guy? Rocky is the official store mascot (he's an Olde English Bulldogge), and he hangs out behind the scenes to keep Dani company."][/caption] [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="898" caption="The shop is charming, but they've also added the convenience of online shopping. Just visit their website, http://www.starryeyedjewelry.com/index.php"][/caption]

Crazyfish final show in U.S., band photos

My extremely talented nephew, Angelo Pinto, had a blast playing bass guitar and backup vocals this year with the Italian Rolling Stones tribute band, Crazyfish. The gigs included a two-month, coast-to-coast tour of the U.S last summer.  Along with a super high-energy sound, this band has a unique local connection. Founder and lead singer Domenico Scola is a native of Haddon Heights, who’s made Italy his home since 2004, and he’s been performing his ‘Jagger’ role there for years. Back in the states for the past year, he just wrapped up a string of shows here, culminating in yesterday’s final U.S. performance, at the Sons of Italy Italian Fest on Cooper River. Here are some shots from yesterday’s show. Look out, too, for drummer Tony Iannuzzi, another talented nephew who joined them for yesterday’s performance (yes, we have a lot of musical talent in this family!)

Cover Model Photo Session

Metrokids Magazine is a great resource for families in the Delaware Valley, and I’ve had a blast photographing their covers for the past two months.  Check out these images of Jewel, the cover model for Metrokids’ October issue.  She’s a real natural – completely at ease in front of the camera, and just adorable.
